Sabelo Lindani - Contour Enviro Group

Inspiring entrepreneur Sabelo Lindani is the founder and managing director of Contour Enviro Group, a company that specialises in environmental support services such as capacity development and environmental consulting.

Established in 2017, the business provides quality management administration, environmental education and project assistance in the environmental and tourism sectors. Their aim is to bring about a unique experience in conservation training, whilst sharing the beauty of the Cape Floristic Region through eco-tourism.

Sabelo is an experienced conservationist who is based in Cape Town and has been in the industry for the past 13 years. Growing up in Port Alfred he was always surrounded by nature. After hearing the local game rangers giving his class a talk in high school, Sabelo decided to pursue a career in nature conservation.

A recent participant and graduate of the SAB Foundation Tholoana Enterprise Programme, Sabelo was also the recipient of the grand prize, the Tholoana Award, as he demonstrated a high level of commitment to driving his business forward. His business also showed exceptional growth performance during his time on the programme.

Since participating in the SAB Foundation Tholoana Enterprise Programme, Contour Enviro Group has grown their annual turnover from R700 000 to R1,4 million within their first year on the programme. Their revenue has continued to show exceptional growth, allowing them to achieve their business goals.

“It has been an amazing journey for me,” said Sabelo, “and the growth in my business has been wonderful. We started on the programme with three employees at the beginning of the programme and now we have 55.”

“Entrepreneurship is exciting and scary at the same time,” he says. “The assistance and support we received on the programme helped us refocus. What really helped me was having a mentor who would not let me give up, even when I wanted to. The programme has taken me from a point where I wasn’t confident in what I was doing and not having a solid vision until this point.”

“Moving forward, we will continue to provide environmental solutions and assisting conservation organisations with capacity. Through working alongside local farmers in the community, we will assist them becoming environmentally compliant before they export their produce to international markets,” says Sabelo.
