SAB Foundation Partners with African Leadership Academy to bridge skill gaps and empower future leaders

The SAB Foundation, a leading supporter of entrepreneurship development, has partnered with African Leadership Academy (ALA) to provide a unique opportunity for beneficiaries to address skill gaps and enhance their businesses. Through this partnership, the SAB Foundation will sponsor skilled interns from ALA to support and contribute to the success of beneficiary businesses.

The SAB Foundation and ALA collaboration aims to empower the next generation of leaders while equipping beneficiary businesses with the resources they need to overcome challenges and achieve sustainable growth. The interns, carefully selected through a rigorous process conducted by ALA, will bring fresh ideas, improved systems, and streamlined processes to enhance business operations.

According to Itumeleng Dhlamini, Head of Programmes at the SAB Foundation, "We are excited to collaborate with African Leadership Academy in providing this valuable opportunity for beneficiaries. By employing skilled interns, businesses can tap into a pool of talent, boost their capacity, and accelerate their growth trajectory. This initiative not only benefits the beneficiaries but also contributes to the development of skilled leaders who will shape the future."

Nono Sekhoto, Sector Lead at African Leadership Academy, stated, "We are excited about this collaboration with the SAB Foundation as it aligns with our mission of developing transformative leaders for Africa. The internship programme offers our alumni an invaluable opportunity to apply their skills in real-world business environments, while also empowering businesses with the talent they need to succeed. We are confident that this partnership will yield positive outcomes for all involved."

The internship programme will involve the placement of interns at businesses supported by the SAB Foundation. These interns will have the opportunity to work in various roles for durations ranging up to six months. To facilitate their placement, the SAB Foundation will fund the stipends for the interns.

By participating in this programme, beneficiary businesses can expect numerous benefits, including access to a pool of skilled interns who can contribute to their success, increased capacity to tackle challenges and drive growth, and training on effective recruitment practices that enhance their ability to attract and retain top talent.
