LCERT (Low Cost Electronic Robotics Toy) Kit

LCERT is the winner of the SAB Foundation Social Innovation awards 2016. It is low cost educational robotics toy kit designed and developed to provide learners and educators with affordable access to educational resources in in their STEM (Science, Technology, Education and Mathematics) classrooms.

Nthato Moagi is a qualified Rocket Scientist, inventor and social entrepreneur who was born and bred in the dusty streets of Soweto. As a self-proclaimed ‘social engineer’, Nthato is passionate about design, technology, innovation and most importantly, education.

While completing his BSc Aeronautical Engineering degree at the University of the Witwatersrand, Nthato designed the LCERT (Low Cost Educational Robotics Toy) in order to develop affordable educational STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) resources for learners in South Africa and the rest of the developing world.

His LCERT (Low Cost Electronic Robotics Toy) Kit was the winner of the SAB Foundation Social Innovation Awards 2016, seeing him walk off with a R1.2 million prize grant.
